Ronnie Raybon has been serving the citizens of Crestview for over 20 years, and while he may be the Building official now, he didn’t start there. In the spring of 2000 Ronnie joined our team as a Utility Mechanic I and within four years he worked his way up to Utility Mechanic III, but he wasn’t stopping there. In 2005 he joined the Building Department and over the next 15 years, with a lot of hard work and determination, he made his way from provisional Inspector to Building Official, the top position within the department.
Building Official isn’t Ronnie’s only job, he is also a husband and a busy father to six children, as well as, an avid hunter and fisherman. He is a native of Okaloosa County and he loves to compete, especially from the bow of a bass boat, but Ronnie will be the first to tell you the boat doesn’t make the fisherman.
Ronnie’s hard work and dedication are great examples of what we love about our employees here at the City of Crestview. He holds multiple certifications and licenses including an ICC certification, which covers all forms of building inspection, a Florida DBPR certification, a Class C Drinking Water Treatment Plant Operator License, and he is currently taking classes to become a licensed drone pilot. When we asked Ronnie if he had any advice for future or current employees he said, “give 100% each day you come to work because you never know when the opportunity will come, and if you’re not ready for it then it will keep on going.” We’re glad you were ready Ronnie. Thank you for your hard work and dedication, and we are excited to see what you accomplish over the next 20 years.
