Duties within the departments housed at City Hall include coordination of the Comprehensive Plan and Land Use Regulations pursuant to the Florida Growth Management Act, ensuring building code conformity, processing requests for commercial projects and subdivisions, issuance of development permits, performing building inspections, providing information and processing request pertaining to annexation, zoning, variances, comp plan amendments and land use changes, Main Street program administration and promotions, and receipt and processing of complaints relating to violations of the Crestview Code. The department also processes requests and schedules meetings for the Local Planning Agency, Board of Adjustment, Community Redevelopment Agency, Historic Preservation Board, Technical Review Committee, and other boards as directed. Some designated Administrative Services Department personnel are responsible for administration of grants. At other Growth Management/Administrative Services Department offices (not housed at City Hall), there are personnel that perform responsible duties associated with parks and recreation.
The City Hall departments (Planning and Zoning, Building Permits and Inspections, CRA, and GIS Services and Mapping) are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The office of the department's Director is also located in the City Hall building, located at 198 N. Wilson Street, in downtown Crestview. |
