City Councilmember Lillie M. Conyers was appointed in mid-May 2007 to fill a vacant seat position previously held by elected City Councilmember Sam Hayes who resigned in early-May of 2007.
Ms. Conyers moved to Okaloosa County and the Crestview area in 1965 and is no stranger to the local community.
She has been and continues to be active in community affairs including current service on the Democratic Committee for Okaloosa County, current service to the Main Street Crestview Association, and prior service on the Crestview Board of Adjustment. She is a member of the NAACP, sitting on the Executive Board and holding the office of Treasurer. Before being appointed to the City Council seat she worked the voting poll for Precinct 12.
She currently serves as a city representative to Okaloosa County
League of Cities and the Main Street Crestview Association.
Ms. Conyers is also active in other areas of the community as well as numerous organizations within her church. She has been a member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church for over 40 years where she is the Administrative Assistant to the pastor and church boards and is the President of the Local Lay Organization. She serves also as a Life Member of the Women’s Missionary Society.

Lillie is married to James N. Conyers and they have three children, Carolyn Calloway-Conyers Evans, Felecia (Conyers) Gambrel and James N. Conyers, III.
