Councilmember Tim Grandberry, Sr. was elected to the position in March and sworn into office in early April of 2009. He is a native of Port St. Joe, Florida and a 1973 graduate of Port St. Joe High School. After high school, he entered the United States Air Force where he had an outstanding military career. His tours span around the world. He was promoted to the highest enlisted grade of Chief Master Sergeant in 1991.
He moved to Crestview in 1993, when he was assigned to the 46th Test Wing at Eglin Air Force Base as the Wing Superintendent and principle advisor to the Wing Commander. He retired from the
46th Test Wing after a distinguished 30-year career with the United States Air Force in 2003.
He currently serves on the
Crestview Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Eglin Federal Credit Union Appeals Board. In addition, for 13 years he coached youth basketball at Twin Hills Park.
He is a proud member of Striving for Perfection Ministries in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He is the Vice-President of Royal Generations Development (a youth mentoring group) that aims to prepare participants to face the challenges of adulthood through committed mentoring and tutoring programs.
He serves as a city representative to the Okaloosa-Walton
Transportation Planning Organization, Okaloosa Gas District Board,
Okaloosa League of Cities, Northwest Florida League of Cities, and
Main Street Crestview Association.
Personal Information
Councilman Grandberry holds a bachelor’s degree from Saint Leo College and is one class short of a Master’s Degree with Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He is married to his wife of 35 years, Pamela
Brown-Grandberry, of Port Saint Joe, Florida. They have one child, Master Sergeant Tim
Grandberry, Jr., who is stationed at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia with his
wife, Technical Sergeant (select) Norma
Grandberry. He is also the grandfather of a 9-year old granddaughter,
Zada, who is the love of his life.
