The Spanish Trail Park is
one of Crestview's newer developments with a 26-acres site. This park
has an adult softball complex and the fields are utilized for the soccer leagues in the
Fall. Along
with the softball fields, the park houses two pavilions, grills, restrooms and
the Senior Center. The other vast undeveloped area within the park is the setting
for circuses, fairs, and carnivals. This park
is located on Stillwell Blvd., one block off of North Ferdon Blvd. (Hwy
85).
Twin Hills Park
This 24-acre park located on Highway
90 East is the hub of Leisure Services - Parks and Recreation Department's overall
operations. Twin Hills
Park is home to our football, soccer and basketball leagues. The outdoor
facilities consist of a stadium, playground, tennis courts, basketball courts,
outdoor beach volleyball, picnic tables, BBQ grills and a beautiful lake. The
park also has a recreation building which features an indoor gymnasium. The most
recent addition to Twin Hills Park is the beautiful Children's Park. The
Children's Park features many colorful pieces of state-of-the-art children's
play equipment. This Children's Park is a wonderful addition to Twin Hills Park
and the residents of Crestview. Twin Hills Park is located on the corner of
Highway 90 East at North Hathaway Street (Only 0.3 of a mile from the
intersection of Highways 90 and 85).
Beaver Creek Park

south end of Crestview and provides a nice retreat for residents who live in the
John King Road area. This park features picnic tables, BBQ grills, and a small pond
for fishing. The park entrance is located off of the
end cul-de-sac on Mill Pond Cove.

additions to the Crestview Parks and Recreation facilities. A $93,000
grant was received from the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP)
in 1998 for the park. This 33-acre area features a 300' x 150' grass playing
field, 50' x 80' multi-purpose court, playground, covered picnic pavilion,
restrooms and drinking fountains. The park entrance is located off of Northview
Drive, just west of Jeffryscot Drive. This park proudly serves the south end of
Crestview and the Countryview Subdivision residents.
Durrell Lee Park
The
Durell Lee Park
is one of the finest youth
baseball/softball facilities in Northwest Florida. This 10-acre park has a regulation
T-ball field, 3 baseball/softball fields, and a concession
stand/press box building. All of the fields are lighted and a real
showcase for the area. Durell Lee Park is located
on First Avenue, accessible from Valley Road or Brackin Street.
Environmental Center
This park has become a real asset to
Crestview and the area's students. The park provides a learning environment like
no other and was acquired from the Florida Division of Forestry. Over 100 trees
are identified in the park. These trees are indigenous to the state of Florida.
An outdoor covered picnic pavilion has proven to be an excellent site for field
trips and Easter egg hunts. The Environmental Museum on the site offers a great
educational tool for our area students. All displays on hand are relative to the
forestry industry that helped found the Northwest Florida and Crestview area
years ago. Several hundred children visit this park each school year. The
Environmental Center is located on Butler Circle (off of Mapoles Street), right
next to the fire tower in Crestview.
Fairview Park
This 8-acre facility, located on
McClelland Street consists of a picnic area, softball field, outdoor basketball
court, children's playground and a youth recreational center. The recreational
center is staffed with City personnel and is open 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Children can come play pool, table games, watch TV, do their homework or just
hang out in a well supervised atmosphere.
