Numbers Now Required on OPAC

Thank you for your patience as we continue to implement and learn the new "Symphony" software from SirsiDynix that runs the library. Since our "go live" on March 19th you have undoubtedly noticed differences with our online public access catalog (OPAC), the most immediate one being that PIN numbers are now required. The default PIN is "CHANGEME" which must be entered along with your 14-digit library barcode number to gain access to your account. You may then change your PIN number to whatever you wish. (Be sure to delete any bookmarks to our old OPAC that you may have saved as they will not work.)

The library has been awarded the Picturing America grant through the National Endowment for the Humanities. This exciting new initiative brings masterpieces of American art into classrooms and libraries nationwide. Through this innovative program, students and citizens will gain a deeper appreciation of our country's history and character through the study and understanding of its art.
The nation's artistic heritage---our paintings, sculpture, architecture, fine crafts, and photography---offers unique insights into the character, ideals, and aspirations of our country. The program uses art as a catalyst for the study of America---the cultural, political, and historical threads woven into our nation's fabric over time.

 As a condition of the grant, these high-quality reproductions of notable American art will be displayed in the library through May 2009. After that time the forty 24X36 prints, as well as the accompanying Teachers Resource Book, will be put in the circulating collection of the library so teachers,
homeschoolers, and other interested patrons may check out the complete kit for one-month periods. For more information go to
