Art Exhibit - Toby Goodwin Hollinghead |
| Contemporary folk artist Toby Goodwin Hollinghead, owner of the Grab Bag Gallery in Opp, Alabama, will be the featured gallery artist for May and June at the Robert L. F. Sikes Public Library. Growing up poor in Alabama and later Deerland near Crestview, Toby worked the cotton and tobacco fields with her six siblings. The joys and sorrows of that rural struggle to survive are reflected in an artistic style that includes folk art, impressionism and abstract contemporary influences.

Hollinghead has been featured on Alabama Public Television’s “For the Record” program. Her more than 600 paintings sold to date may be found in collections all over the U.S. as well as in local galleries. She is a featured artist of the Marcia Weber Art Objects of Montgomery, Alabama, with works traveling to shows in Atlanta, New York City, and Chicago’s
“Artropolis.”
The library foyer art display cases will showcase the work of Crestview High School students during May and June.
