The City of Crestview's restriction of water use ordinance (SEC. 90-6) was designed to encourage water conservation and insure the Public Health and Welfare of the citizens of the city and its water customers. Due to the current drought conditions that the City of Crestview is experiencing we feel it is vital that we put in place water conservation measures now. Residents can only water every other day, based on the last digit of your house number. If your house number ends on an even number, water on even-numbered calendar days. If your house number ends in an odd number, water on odd-numbered days. Homeowners' associations and apartment complexes that provide a common irrigation system may water only every other day. Businesses and commercial accounts please follow the same rules. In addition, watering is only allowed before 11 a.m. or after 5 p.m. each day. Watering during the heat of the day wastes water. Residents who violate these restrictions will be given a verbal warning for the first violation. The second violation will result in a written warning and up to a $50 charge to your water bill. Subsequent violations will increase the surcharge by $50 for each notice: 3rd notice: $100
Watering of animals and livestock, limited hand-watering of plants using a hose for gardens and house plants. Watering of new landscaping, sod, or seed within 15 days of installation. For exceptions, such as new sod or seed, please notify the Department of Public Services Water Department at (850) 682-6132 or visit our web site at cityofcrestview.org Water is a valuable and limited resource. Smart use and conservation is important to ensuring its availability now for Public Health and Safety. Thank you for your cooperation, Wayne Steele
