Early this October 5 2017 morning, our firefighters presented our community's brand new fire safety smoke house to the kindergartners at Bob Sikes Elementary School. The smoke house allows us to present the children with a more realistic way to learn about fire safety. A smoke machine filled the house with artificial fog to simulate smoke inside of a home. The children loved the house, while also getting to see the firetruck and firefighters wear their fire gear. We also discussed basic fire safety tips with the children before they entered the fire safety smoke house. In observance of Fire Prevention Month, we will continue to visit local schools throughout the month of October to present the smoke house to the children in our community. We hope everyone enjoys the new smoke house for years to come!

The following Fire Dept employees were present:

Sr Capt Winkler
