R U OK?

Are You OK?

Are you OK? Is a program that allows elderly or physically disabled residents of the City of Crestview the independence of living in their home alone, while also providing the security of a daily welfare check through telephone contact.

How does the program work?

After enrolling, a member of the Crestview Police Department will reach out to you regarding your eligibility for this program and collect a spare key to keep within our agency for first responders to utilize in the event of an emergency. A subscriber can expect a daily phone call from either an automated service or a member of the Crestview Dispatch Center. If the subscriber does not answer the phone after two attempts, an officer from the Crestview Police Department will respond to the residence to verify a subscriber’s wellbeing.  In the event of an emergency (if no contact is made and/or the subscriber is experiencing a medical emergency) an officer will make entry into the residence and assist with anything necessary to resolve the situation.

What happens if I’m not home?

We understand it is perfectly fine to not be home during the time a call is scheduled. This program can still work for you. Whether you are on vacation, at the store, at an appointment, etc., just contact the Crestview Dispatch Center and let us know you will not be available.

How do I enroll in the program?

If you are interested in enrolling into the program, enrollment forms can be obtained at the Crestview Police Department during normal business hours Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm.

Once the form is completed and you have a spare key (if desired), please deliver them to the Crestview Police Department or by mail:         Attn: Community Service 201 Stillwell Blvd Crestview, Fl 32539
