Bush House Market returns Dec. 9

Bush Hse Mkt 3

Just in time for unique, one-of-a-kind Christmas gift shopping, the next Bush House Market is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 9, to coincide with the Crestview History Museum’s monthly Second Saturday Series opening. As the holidays approach, the market will be heavy on arts and crafts, as well as cottage industry foods and gently previously owned treasures.

Sarah Searfoss, director and co-founder of the Crestview Artists’ Collective, is organizing the market and said she is “excited to work with the Crestview History Museum and Sister City Ambassadors to present the community with more opportunities for arts and culture with the Bush House Christmas Market.”

The market, which is held about three times a year, benefits the Crestview Sister City Ambassadors, the student group of the Sister City Program. Exhibitors’ $20 suggested donations will help the students fund travel to Crestview’s Sister City, Noirmoutier, France, in 2025, and will help fund activities when 20 Noirmoutrin students visit Crestview in October 2024.

The market will be held in the Wilson Street parking lot adjacent to the Bush House, which is home to the Crestview History Museum. While the parking lot access will be closed during the market’s 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. opening times, there is plenty of on-street parking available.

Attendees will enjoy live music by a homeschool student choir, including traditional Christmas songs, some sung in the original German.

“Warm up with a hand-crafted coffee while browsing an array of selections from local artists, crafters, artisans, and more at the Christmas bazaar, while fun activities take place in the historic Bush House,” Sarah said.

While the market goes on next door, the Bush House will be dressed in its Christmas finery. Great opportunities for family photos abound around the American Craftsman-style home, and try decorating Christmas cookies in the warm, cozy kitchen.
