Mayor:
Mayor JB Whitten was elected on March 12th, 2019, and sworn in to office on April 1st, 2019. He is a retired member of the United States Air Force and a retired Florida high school teacher. Since his arrival here, he has served the Crestview community as President of his Homeowners’ Association, as a volunteer at the Northwest Florida Chapter of the American Red Cross, President of the North Okaloosa Republican Club, a former member of the Crestview Kiwanis Club, and was the first Office Manager of the Okaloosa County Seniors vs. Crime Office in Crestview. Seniors vs. Crime is a Special Project of the Florida Attorney General’s Office. Mayor Whitten also served as the Region 5 Deputy Director for that project.
Personal:
Mayor Whitten and his wife, Ann have been married for over 50 years. They have two grown daughters, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He is active in the Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, serving as one of their Lectors. He is an elected Precinct Committeeman for Election Precinct 45 in Crestview and also a member of Post 75 of the local American Legion.
Personal Note:
I am excited about maintaining our new form of city government and see this as “A New View for Crestview”. I will be an integral part of working with the City Manager, the City Clerk, and the City Council in continuing to uphold this “New View”.
